Diploma in Remedial Massage
I am passionate about people and their quality of life. I started my studies in Personal Training and Rehabilitation (TAFE SA) before venturing into Therapeutic and Sports massage in 2001, which is where I found my true passion. I went on to work and travel before completing my Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2011 in Queensland.
Whilst my work life has been varied and diverse I always find myself drawn to massage and healing.. My passion for helping others has lead me into work in different parts of the world from sports and health clubs to luxury cruise ships and day
spas within resorts and retreats.
I use a variety of techniques to increase movement and flexibility and decrease pain for my clients. My hands are geared towards deep tissue but I also enjoy relaxation; calming the mind and body when needed. I offer an observant, intuitive and professional journey.
Outside of massage I am mother to two energetic boys. I love learning new things, enjoy the outdoors, exercise, travel and photography.

Kathryn Smith (Kate) Bachelor of Health Science in Chinese Medicine/ Acupuncture (BHSc. Acu)
I was initially drawn to studying Chinese Medicine after nursing family members who had serious health issues. I wanted to find ways to assist them in the healing process. I am in awe of the way Acupuncture can bring a sense of harmony within the body which can result in the body healing itself. The goal we are aiming for our clients, is to achieve optimal health within the body.
I studied for my degree at Endeavour College in Sydney, graduating in 2018. I then commenced work at two clinics in Sydney, before the call of the friendliness and calmness of my home state, brought me back to Queensland. I am happy to be here after the craziness of 2020 and love being able to call the Sunshine Coast home.
I genuinely love what I do as it gives me the opportunity to help people be the best they can be. I have a strong focus on providing an individualized treatment for each client. Everyone is unique and I am more than happy to chat about what I am doing, and why, if patient is curious.
Having been trained in various styles of traditional Chinese Medicine but I am inclined to favour the Kiiko Matsumoto (KMS) style of acupuncture. This is a Japanese style and is a particularly gentle and effective form of treatment. Included in this style, I also utilize Manaka protocols, is a unique way of treating scars. Japanese acupuncture involves the use of very fine, small needled focusing on abdominal palpitations.
Other forms of treatment which I incorporate are Tui Na (Chinese Massage), cupping and moxibusion if I Feel the body would benefit from them.
My philosophy when treating that it is all about the client, and should make you feel nurtured, and relaxed.
